James Norman Mock III, JOHNSON CITY

James Norman Mock III, 811 Briarcliff Rd, #16, Johnson City, TN, entered into eternal rest on August 8, 2012, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Elizabethton, TN, after a lengthy illness.
James was a native of Johnson City, TN, and graduate of Science Hill High School, where he lettered in basketball.
He was the son of James Norman Mock Jr. and Veral Jean Neal. He was preceded in death by a son, Tajai Livingston; his paternal grandparents, James Norman Mock Sr. and Essie B. Mock; his maternal grandfather, William Goddard; sister, Krisie E. Thompson; and brother. Rodney Lee Thompson.
Until his illness prevented him from working, he was employed at Fleet Washing Service. James was well known and loved by many.
Survivors include, his children, Marcus Gardner, Adonis Gardner, Tyra Livingston, Niyah Mock, Aubrianna Rentz; his mother, Veral Jean Neal; father, James Norman Mock Jr.; stepfather, Robert Neal; siblings, Stephanie (Rev. Lester D.) Lattany, of Johnson City, Gary (Valorie) Thompson, of Church Hill, TN, Kevin (Penny) Thompson, of Smyrna, GA, Norma Walston (Reuben), of Tucker, GA, Kimberly Bradley, of Nashville, TN; maternal grandmother, Ruth Goddard; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Friendship Baptist Church, 522 West Main St., Dr. C.H. Charlton, Pastor.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2 PM prior to the services at the church.
