Bula Holtsclaw, ROAN MOUNTAIN

Bula Holtsclaw, 85, of Roan Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol.
She was the daughter of the late Elijah and Evealine Blevins Chambers and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer L. Holtsclaw; and by two brothers, Ezekiel and Mack Chambers.
Mrs. Holtsclaw was a member of the Hopson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where she was very active. She was also a member of the Eastern Star in Roan Mountain and was known for being involved with her community. She was retired from the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Nick Holtsclaw and his wife, Earlene, Elizabethton, Rick Holtsclaw and his wife, Sonja, Roan Mountain; a granddaughter, Donna Holtsclaw, Johnson City; a grandson, Dustin Holtsclaw and his wife, Jamie, Roan Mountain; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Evans, Summer Holtsclaw and Levi Holtsclaw; a brother, Jack Chambers, Elizabethton; and two sisters, June Dale Barnett, Johnson City, and Virginia Blair, New Ellington, SC.
The funeral service for Mrs. Holtsclaw will be conducted on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at 7:30 PM in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Bob Campbell and Pastor Matt Guy officiating.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6:00-7:30 PM on Thursday prior to the service.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 10, 2012, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee. Active pallbearers will be Andrew Anderson, Dustin Holtsclaw, Jeff Chambers, Mack Chambers, Scott Blair, Randy Blevins, Dexter Perkins, Earl Chambers and Rob Chambers. Honorary pallbearers will be her friends of Hopson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Clark and the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton and Dr. Garcia and the staff of Pulmonary Associates of East Tennessee for the love and care extended to Mrs. Holtsclaw and the family.
