Louise Bailey, KINGSPORT

Louise McGlothlin Bailey, 90, passed away at her home on August 8, 2012, following a long illness.
Louise Bailey, 1 of 7 children, was born to Mary Walden and Jeptha McGlothlin in Coeburn, VA, and moved to Kingsport in the early 1930s. She graduated from Sullivan High School and worked for Mead Corporation for almost 20 years. Louise later operated Bailey’s Antiques in downtown Kingsport and was an avid gardener, reader and cook. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Kingsport for over 60 years.
Louise was a bright spirit and will be greatly missed.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Mary Walden and Jeptha McGlothlin; her siblings, Mable Murtha, James McGlothlin, Exie McGlothlin, Alice McGlothlin, Jeptha McGlothlin Jr. and Victor McGlothlin.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Dewey Bert (Beetle) Bailey, of the home; and one daughter, Judith Bailey Slagle and husband, Donald C. Slagle, of Johnson City, TN.
The family will receive friends at Pleasant View Baptist Church on Friday, August 10, 2012, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM with funeral service to follow at the church with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the garden of Sermon on the Mount.
