Maybelle Taylor, Johnson City

Maybelle Wright Taylor, 91, passed away on Saturday (August 4, 2012) after a brief illness.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Eidson, TN and was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and Hawkins County, and was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Church Hill. She was retired from Kingsport Press as a proofreader with 15 years of service. Maybelle loved reading books, watching tennis on TV but most importantly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James “Jay” Taylor, parents, Thomas and Mary Alice Wright, sisters; Nelle King and Kate Dickison, brothers; Luke Wright, Claude Wright, Eugene Wright, Sam Wright, and Nicholas Wright.
She is surviced by two daughters and son in law, Pam and David Doyle, Virginia Beach, VA, Kathy Whitaker, Johnson City, five grandchildren, Neal Doyle, Erin Doyle Blackman and husband, Johnny, Ryan Doyle and wife, SarahMindy Whitaker and fiancé, Jon McKeenan, and Dustin Whitaker; three great grandchildren, Peyton Whitaker, Baleigh McKeenan, Doyle Blackman, sister and brother in law, Doris and Stan Heineman, brother and sister in law, Harry and Sunny Wright, brother in law, Johnny Taylor, sister in law, Margaret Hilliard, sister in law, Dot Wright, one very special niece and nephew, Barbara and Norman Tunnell and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 12 to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home of Church Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sam Johnson and Rev. Victor Wallace officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday following the service at Cooper Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
