Ella Mae Rash, JOHNSON CITY

Ella Mae Rash, our precious mom is now in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior having passed away June 12, 2012 with her family by her side at the age of 84.
Proverbs 31:10, 28, 30
“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies...Her children arise up, and call her blessed; ..but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.”
Born on June 27, 1927 a native of Washington County and the daughter of the late John Daniel & Mollie McMackin.
Preceded in death by her husband Joe Lee Rash; a sister Margaret Potter; a brother William {Buddy} McMackin.
She was a loving devoted mother and grandmother who was loved by all that knew her. A proud member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church where she loved her Pastor, Curtis Hurt & Church Family. She was a retiree of United Inter Mountain Telephone Co/Sprint with over 38 years of service.
Survivors include one son Michael Lee Rash & wife Phyllis of Gray; one daughter Patti Jo Birchfield & husband Charlie of Johnson City; Two granddaughters, Melanie Isabell & husband Curtis of Clinton TN; Helen Holly & husband Derek of Johnson City; Three grandsons Matthew Rash & wife Lori; Ryan Birchfield & fiancée Whitney Williams; Seth Birchfield of Johnson City; six great grandchildren, Connor & Joseph Isabell, Michael, Jacob, & Megan Rash, Kenna Mae Holly.
Celebration of Life will be conducted at 7:30 P.M., Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Grace Freewill Baptist Church, 2110 Knob Creek Rd., Johnson City with Pastor Curtis Hurt and Rev. Jackie Cole officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:30 until 7:30 at the church.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 15 at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. Friday to travel in procession to the cemetery. She will be carried by her family; son, Mike Rash, son-in-law, Charlie Birchfield, and grandsons.
The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses of Caris Hospice also special friends Tammy Dickey & Shirley Hurt; granddaughters: Helen Holly, Whitney Williams and Melanie Isabell for the special care each of you gave to our mom.
Also a special thanks to Little Kenna Mae Holly who brought so much love, happiness & sunshine to her great grandma every week.
Special thanks to Pastor Curtis Hurt & Jackie Cole, Grace Freewill Baptist C.H.P.S. Program, church family and special friends Bill & Karen Greer for all your love and support to mom and our family.
