Patsy Ann Smith Holtsclaw, 70, Johnson City, loving Moma and Nanny to all who knew her went home to be with her Lord Sunday June 3, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.
A native of Unicoi County, she was a daughter of the late Bert & Etta Snead Smith. She had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a homemaker. She loved to work in her garden and her rose garden. She was a member of the Wayside Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Vernon D. Holtsclaw, March 8, 2005 and a brother: Steven Hyder.
Survivors include Two Sons and Daughters-in-Law: David & Lisa Holtsclaw, Hampton and Joe & Lindsey Holtsclaw, Johnson City. Three Daughters & Sons-in-Law: Charlene & Charlie Hartley, Rachel & Brady Wise and Debbie & Scott Benfield all of Johnson City. Six Grandchildren: Misty Russell, Mary Richardson, April Hartley, Steven Holtsclaw, Julie Holtsclaw and Chastity DeSadier. Four Great Grandchildren: Haley Russell, Cheyanne Richardson, Natalie Richardson and Dixie Richardson. Three Sisters: Robin Clark, Roan Mountain, Sue Kelly, Johnson City and Leona Simerly, Elizabethton. Four Brothers: Paul Smith, Harold Smith and Terry Hyder all of Roan Mountain and Ford Hyder of Michigan. Several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Hilman officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday June 7, 2012 in the Holtsclaw Family Cemetery, Hampton with the Rev. Jim Holtsclaw officiating. Music will be provided by Kenny Lethcoe. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
