Roxie Beatrice McNicol Wilson, 92, 103 Furnace Hill Road, Embreeville Community, Jonesborough, died Saturday, June 2, 2012, at her home.
She was a native of Washington County and a daughter of the late Albert and Ida Lister McNicol. She was a member of Mt. O’Dell Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Wilson; by one granddaughter, Tammy Broyles; by one grandson, Dillon Wilson; by one daughter-in-law, Karen Wilson; and by one son-in-law, Morris Broyles.
She leaves behind: Two Sons: Troy Wilson and wife, Alene, Jonesborough, Johnny Wilson and wife, Missy, Parrottsville, TN; Four Daughters: Dorothy Hughes and husband, Kenneth, Jonesborough, Mary Lee Rogers and husband, Russell, Erwin, Ida Broyles, Erwin, Christine Hensley and husband, Theodore, Fall Branch; Fourteen Grandchildren: T.A. Wilson, Wanda Wilson, Darlene Peters and husband, Jeff, Michael Wilson and wife, Tracy, Adam Wilson and wife, Angel, Crystal Townsend and husband, Steven, Timothy Rogers and wife, Carolyn, Travis Rogers and wife, Becky, Frankie Rogers and wife, Julie, Tina Presnell and husband, Wayne, Robin Emery and husband, Bill, Scarlet Bettis and husband, Steven, Sommer Hughes and Juanita Tittle and husband, Richard; Twenty Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Roxie Wilson will be conducted at 7 PM Monday, June 4, 2012, in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Rev. David Reeves will officiate. A eulogy will be offered by Michael Grey. Vocal selections will be provided by the McNabb Sisters and by Rev. David Reeves.
Serving as Pallbearers will be her Grandsons: Frank Rogers, Timothy Rogers, Travis Rogers, Michael Wilson, T.A. Wilson and Adam Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be her Great Grandsons: Bricen Roberts, Raymond Wilson, Jake Rogers, Jeremiah Rogers, and Montana Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 PM until service time at Valley Funeral Home, and other times at her home.
The committal service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Keplinger Cemetery. Those attending the committal service will meet at Keplinger Cemetery by 10:50 AM Tuesday.
The family would like to offer a special Thank you to Amedysis Home Health and Amedysis Hospice, as well as all of Momma’s wonderful neighbors, especially Ruth, Myrtle, Sarah, Edna and Susie. You will never be forgotten for all of the love and help you have shown.
