Richard Harris, ERWIN

Richard D. Harris, age 66, 147 Deacon Creek Road, Erwin, passed away Tuesday morning, May 29, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a native of Unicoi County. Mr. Harris was a son of the late Jack and Louise Masters Harris.
He was owner of Tennessee Abrasive in Erwin. Mr. Harris was of the Baptist faith.
He loved his family and his dog “Cricket.” His grandkids and his business were his life.
Survivors include his loving wife: Shirley Frazier Harris; two sons: Kenny Harris and wife, Linda, Rick Harris and wife, April, all of Erwin; four grandchildren: Jennifer Wilson and husband, Chris, Raysha Harris, Issac Harris and Cheryl Harris; one brother: Hubert Harris and wife, Carolyn, Erwin; three sisters: Nancy Dover, Lafayette, Georgia, Donna Morefield and husband, Richard, Erwin, and Charlotte Cannon, Fayetteville, North Carolina; Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Mr. Richard Harris will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Alan King will officiate. Speaker Caleb Frazier will assist. Special music will be provided by Chris Wilson and pianist Inez Chandler.
Active pallbearers will be Kenny Harris, Ricky Harris, Issac Harris, Chris Wilson, Raymond Frazier, Tim Frazier, Hubert Harris and Dean Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Adkins, Terry Thomas, Delbert “Skip” Smith, Kent Harris, Gary Edwards, J.M. Harris and the employees of Tennessee Abrasive.
Interment will follow the funeral service in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the funeral service between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to make contributions in memory of Mr. Harris may do so to the Jericho Shrine Temple, P.O. Box 5548, Kingsport, Tennessee 37663; or to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee, ℅ the Children’s Program, 127 Dillon Court, Gray, Tennessee 37615.
