Edith Sneyd, UNICOI

Edith Garland Sneyd, age 84, 810 Lower Stone Mountain Rd., Unicoi, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2012, at the Center on Aging.
She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late John and Eliza Dellinger Garland.
Mrs. Sneyd was a machine operator for twenty plus years at Leon Ferenbach, Johnson City. She was a member of Limestone Cove Christian Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Sneyd, in 2010; a grandson, Todd Sneyd; two brothers: Wilson and Jessie Garland; and three sisters: Katie Bowman, Bessie Williams and Julie Furrow.
Mrs. Sneyd is survived by four sons: Vernon L. Sneyd Jr. and wife, Barbara, Nevada, William David Sneyd and wife, Brenda, Johnson City, Bobby Gene Sneyd and wife, Vivian, Hampton, and James Richard “Ricky” Sneyd and wife, Sandy, Unicoi; four daughters: Christine Marie Tipton, Johnson City, Martha Lee Rice and husband, Wayne, Cindy Roberta Evans and Lauri Vance, all of Unicoi; two brothers: Monroe Garland and wife, Lillian, Ohio, Tom Garland, Unicoi; and sister, Mattie Ashburn, Johnson City. Seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Edith Garland Sneyd will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, from the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Kevin Luckadoo will officiate. Special music will be provided by organist, Inez Chandler, and soloists, Stacy Valentine and Faith Benard. Grandsons and special friends will serve as pallbearers.
The committal service will be held Thursday morning, May 31, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bell Cemetery. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery not later then 9:45 a.m.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Lauri Sneyd Vance, 814 Lower Stone Mountain Rd., Unicoi, TN.
