Mr. Vasie Clark, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Courtyard in Johnson City after a lengthy illness.
A native of Del Rio, TN, he was the son of the late John A. and Arbella Bible Clark. Mr. Clark was of the Methodist faith. Upon retiring from PET Dairy after 43 years he enjoyed his hobby of woodworking, hand making many beautiful rocking chairs.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Louise Clark Rutherford, Ruth Clark McCracken, Esther Clark McElyea and Hazel Clark Lewis; and two brothers, Oren Clark and Edward “Buddy” Clark.
He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Mildred Greenway Clark, Johnson City; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth E. and Linda Clark, Limestone; a granddaughter and her husband, Carrie C. and Ken Stout; great grandson, Eric Stout, both of Jonesborough; sisters, Iris Clark Treadway, Limestone, and Reva Clark Bishop, Charlottesville, VA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Committal and Graveside service for Mr. Vasie Clark will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Monte Vista Memorial Park with Steven Spell officiating. Everyone is asked to meet the family at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
