Shirley Noble, JOHNSON CITY

Shirley Taylor Noble, age 75, 143 Paddle Creek Road, Johnson City, went home to be with our Lord Monday afternoon, May 21, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was born July 26, 1936, in Tuskegee, Alabama, one of nine children of the late Emory O. and Lurlene Kilpatrick Taylor.
Mrs. Noble was co-owner and operator with her husband of the H & R Block franchises both in Erwin and Greeneville for over 30 years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmama, aunt and sister.
Mrs. Noble was a devoted Christian.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: William T. Taylor; one sister: Linda Taylor; brothers-in-law: Robert Y. Perry, Thomas David Noble, Robert Noble; sisters-in-law: Jean Taylor, Virginia C. “Jenny” Taylor, Elizabeth Roberts; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Noble is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 57 years, William E. “Bill” Noble; One son: David Noble and wife, Connie, Morristown; two daughters: Teri Robertson, Atlantic Beach, Florida, Cindy Noble, Banner Elk, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, who adored their grandmama: Billy Noble, Christopher Maya and wife, Angel, Amanda Travis and husband, Mike, Mark Maya and wife, Kathryn, Becky Noble, Ali Szkutnik, Beth Ann Noble and Jonathan Noble. Twelve great grandchildren and as Shirley often said to everyone, “I’ve ALWAYS been a GREAT grandmama.”
She is also survived by two brothers: Emory Taylor and wife, Margo, Canton, Georgia, Jim Taylor and wife, Ruth, Atlanta, Georgia; four sisters: Gloria Hall and husband, Joe, Patricia Evers and husband, Joe, all of Birmingham, Alabama, Janice Perry, Tuskegee, Alabama, Lana Jackson and husband, Joe, Opelika, Alabama; Numerous beloved nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. Noble will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 24, 2012, from the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Brent Nidiffer will officiate. Special music will be provided by Inez Chandler and members of the family.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Noble, Chris Maya, Mark Maya, Jonathan Evers, Brad Jackson, Rob Perry, Thomas Jarratt and Daniel Back. Honorary pallbearer will be Jonathan Noble.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon prior to the funeral service between the hours of 12 noon and 2:00 PM.
Interment will follow the visitation and funeral service at Roselawn Memorial Park.
