Mr. Charles Daniel King, age 84, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Center on Aging & Health in Erwin.
Mr. King was a native of Washington County and son of the late Ed & Rosie Mae Bowman King. In addition to his parents, Mr. King was also preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Cook King; three brothers, John King, Grover King and Roy King; three sisters, Katherine King Howell, Rosie King Hicks and Lillian King.
Mr. King was a Christian.
He was a United States Army Veteran, having served during WWII. He was an avid collector of Military Insignia Memorabilia.
Survivors include two brothers, Jack King, Jonesborough, and Toy King, Lakeland, FL; sister, Mary King Thomas, Jonesborough; and many nephews and nieces.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24 2012, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family & friends.
