Carmon Hensley, ERWIN

Carmon Dencial Hensley, age 78, of Erwin, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Hensley is a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late William Ervin and Sarah Hughes Hensley.
Carmon moved to Florida in 1956 and then back to Erwin, TN, in April of 2012. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Blanding Boulevard Baptist Church in Florida.
Mr. Hensley was an avid musician, having interest in country, swing, bluegrass gospel and Southern gospel. Carmon retired from the Civil Service as an Office Clerk after 20 years of service.
Other than his parents, Mr. Hensley is preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Ella Willis Hensley; a son, Gregory Randall (Randy) Hensley; and several brothers and sisters.
Carmon leaves behind: Wife: Josephine Alexander Hensley, of Jacksonville, FL; Son: Ricky C. Hensley and wife, Kim, of Erwin; Daughter: Donna Thompson and husband, Terry, of California; Daughter-In-Law: Robin Hensley, of Greenville, SC; Sister: Barbara Foster, of Erwin; 10 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services for Carmon Hensley will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Revered Earl Ragland will officiate. Musical selections will be under the direction of The Wisecarvers.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until service time at Valley Funeral Home.
Military Graveside Honors, provided by the Tennessee National Honor Guard, will immediately follow in Willis Cemetery in the Coffee Ridge Community.
