Martha Evans, JOHNSON CITY

Martha R. Evans, 89, Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Lakebridge Healthcare Center.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Ezekiel and Suda Lyons Hubbard. Martha was of the Baptist faith. She loved canning, gardening and baking.
Martha was a loving homemaker and will be missed by her entire family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Evans; daughter, Diane Moon; grandson, Eddie Lynn Moon; sisters, Cordie Fortner and Floy Hubbard; and brothers, John Hubbard, Lawrence Hubbard.
She leaves behind sons, Roger Evans and his domestic partner, Steven O’Brien, CA, Donald Evans and Edward Fortner; a daughter, Vivian Evans; sisters, Bonnie Glover, Pinky Guinn and her husband, Vance, all of Johnson City; a brother, Junior Hubbard, Limestone; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life service for Martha R. Evans will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 20, 2012, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Revered Jackie Cole officiating.
The family will greet friends in the funeral home chapel from 1:00 PM till the service hour.
A Committal and Interment service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2012, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
Everyone is asked to meet the family at the funeral home on Monday at 1:15 PM to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family would like to express a special thank-you to the nurses and staff at Lakebridge Healthcare Center for the loving care given to Martha and the family.
