Tempie McInturff, age 92, of Unicoi, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Lakebridge Health Care Center.
She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Ben and Sally Putman Tipton. Tempie loved to quilt and crochet and was a wonderful cook. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clifton McInturff: Grandson: Todd McInturff. Sisters: Hassie Hensley, Charlotte Tipton, Mildred Tipton and Willie McInturff. Brother: Fred Tipton.
She leaves behind: Son: Donald McInturff of Unicoi Granddaughter: Michelle McInturff of Johnson City Sisters: Bea Bryant, husband Harvey, of Unicoi Beulah Bryant of Unicoi Hazel Carver, husband Doug, of Unicoi Pansy McNabb, husband William, of Unicoi Brother: Richard “ Ralph ” Tipton of Unicoi Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
The funeral service for Ms. McInturff will be held 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Tim Broyles will officiate and music will be directed by Harold McNabb.
A commital service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the McInturff- Barnett Cemetery, located in Unicoi, TN. Please meet at Valley Funeral Home at 10:30 to go in procession to the cemetery on Thursday. Pallbearers will be notified. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until service time on Wednesday.
