Paulina "Paula" Harper, KINGSPORT

Paulina “Paula” Harper, 87 formerly of Gray, TN, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Wexford House in Kingsport, TN.
Paula was born in Goeggingen, Germany, near Augsburg, Germany, and came to the U.S. in 1965 with her husband. She lived in Gallion, Ohio, for several years before moving to Gray, TN. Paula attended St. Dominic’s church in Kingsport, TN.
Paula was the daughter of the late Andreas and Maria Holzinger, of Germany. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Morgan Harper.
Paula is survived by her sister: Gertrude Werner, niece: Ruth Hoess, great-nephew: Alexander Hoess, all from Germany; step-daughter: Lynda Morrison and husband, Sam, step-son: Steven Harper and wife, Penny, all from Ohio; several other nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special friends: John and Rosemarie Snavely, who provided special love, strength and care after the loss of her husband.
A special thank you goes out to the nurses and CNA’s at the Wexford House, and to her many great neighbors and German friends.
A Celebration of Life service for Paula will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 28, 2012, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Deacon Frank Fisher officiating.
The family will greet friends from 2:30 PM until the service hour.
A private Entombment will follow the service in Washington County Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Dominic Church, 2421 John B. Dennis Hwy., Kingsport, TN 37660; or to the local animal shelter of your choice.
