Alice Jones, Johnson City

Alice Miller Jones, 76, Johnson City, TN, went home peacefully to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on Sunday April 22, 2012, at her residence.
She was a native of Greene County and the daughter of Tona and Hassie Waddle Miller.
Mrs. Jones was a member of Skyline Heights Baptist Church and loved quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; Helen Carter, Limestone, and Jane Silfies, Owassa, OK; and two brothers; Clark Miller, Chuckey, TN, and Blaine Miller, Chuckey, TN.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Clinton M. Jones; two daughters, Melissa Carter and her husband, Danny, Jonesborough, Kathy McPeck, Johnson City; one son, Byron Jones and special friend, Steve Adams, Wilkesboro, NC; one grandson, Chris Carter, Elizabethton, NC; two granddaughters, Hassie McPeck, Johnson City, and Hope Carter Hall, Gray; a half brother, Warren Miller, Chuckey, TN; a very special cousin, Juanita Clemons, Johnson City; a beloved pet dog, Daisy; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. in the East Chapel of the Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Perry Cleek presiding.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Friday, April 27, at 11:00 A.M. in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 to travel in procession to the cemetery.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made in memory of Mrs. Jones to the Alzheimer’s Association, 207 N. Boones St., Johnson City, TN 37604.
The Jones family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Hospice staff members: Betty, Denise, Sara, Debbie; and special friends: Norma Ledford, Johns Roland and Jim Buchanan.
