Betty Jo Estep, Elizabethton

Betty Jo Bishop Estep, 83, Elizabethton passed away Monday April 23, 2012 at her residence after a brief illness.
A native of McRoberts, Kentucky she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Almeda Frazier Bishop. She had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother: Carl Bishop and a sister: Joyce June Bishop. Mrs. Estep was a member of the Dungan Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband: George H. Estep, Jr.. Three Sons & Daughters-In-Law: David & Becky Estep, Mike & Karen Estep and Jeff & Sharon Estep. Her Grandchildren: Christopher Estep, Joshua Estep, Jacob Estep, Mike Estep, Jr., Brandon Estep, Ethan Estep and Christy Hyder. Her Great Grandchildren: Carson Estep, Damon Estep, Drake Estep and Madeline Estep. Two Sisters & One Brother-in-Law: Peggy & John Wiggins, Elizabethton and Gloria Winters of Mississippi. Several nieces & nephews. A special sister-in-law: Maxine Estep.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Estep Family Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers will be Her Grandchildren and the Staff of Memorial Funeral Chapel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the Dungan Chapel Baptist Church and Cleta Lingerfelt. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home anytime Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105-1942. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday.
