Ruth Stancil, Erwin

ERWIN — Ruth Riddle Stancil, age 69, 131 Toney Avenue, Erwin, passed away Wednesday evening, April 18, 2012, at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care.
She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and was a daughter of the late James and Maggie Lance Riddle. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Stancil was a loving wife and sister.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Stancil is preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Stancil, in 1985; two brothers, Lee Riddle and Clarence Riddle; two sisters, Pearlean Story and Margaret Walker.
She is survived by three brothers: Johnny Riddle and wife, Janice, Greeneville, Doyle Riddle and wife, Karla, Knoxville, and Fred Riddle, Chattanooga; three sisters: Judy Metcalf and husband, Bill, and Kate Lawing, both of Erwin, Edna Chrisman, Michigan; one aunt: Helen Griffith, Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive and her special friend, Billie Grace Peterson, Erwin.
Funeral service for Mrs. Stancil will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, April 20, 2012, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend David Crutchfield will officate. Music will be provided by Tim Riddle, Jake Riddle and Inez Chandler.
Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Stancil’s brothers and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Bennett and Rick Bailey.
The family will receive friends Friday prior to the service between the hours of 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2012, in Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending the committal should meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M. Saturday.
