Sandra Long, Bristol

Sandra Gentry Long, 45, entered into rest Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Welmont Hospice House, Bristol, TN.
She was born in Columbia, SC and had lived in Washington County for most of her life.
Sandra was a daughter of Hobert Gentry, Johnson City and the late Wilma Gentry. She was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Fann.
She was a graduate of Northeast State College, listed in Who’s Who in Students of American Junior Colleges in 1998 and Business Student of the Year in 1998.
Sandra was a loving housewife and a former employee of First Tennessee Bank and Kwikway Transportation.
She was a beautiful, and full of life lady, who was her husband’s soul mate and best friend.
Sandra enjoyed movies, reading, traveling, classic rock and roll music and loved walking and spending time with her beloved pets.
She attended Unaka Avenue Baptist Church.
Sandra had many friends including her “second mom,” Sandy Whisman.
In addition to her father, she leaves, her husband, Dennis Long; one brother, Ronald Gentry, Johnson City; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Nell Long, Bristol, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Debra Rosenbaum, Bristol, TN, Ira and Tobi Cunningham, St. Augustine, FL and Darrin and Lisa Maiden, Bristol, TN; special cousins, Tommy and Ann Thurman, Church Hill, TN; aunts, Margaret Thurman, Church Hill, TN and Grace Sutton, Clyde, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM Tuesday, April 17, 2012 until a Celebration of Life Service at 8:00 PM from the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City, Tennessee. Reverend Tony Trunnell and Reverend Ira Cunningham will officiate.
Entombment services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City, Tennessee. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to, 4 Paws for Ability, 253 Dayton Avenue, Xenia, Ohio 45385, in honor of Jacob Stone.
