C.M. Putman, Roan Mountain

ROAN MOUNTAIN — C.M. Putman, 71, Roan Mountain, passed away Tuesday April 3, 2012, at his residence after an extended illness with cancer.
A native of Mitchell County, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Jason A. and Fannie Forbes Putman. He had lived most of his life in Roan Mountain. He was a retired Carpenter. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Mr. Putman’s hobby was fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Peggy Cox Putman; Two Daughters: Jenny Johnson and husband, Michael, Johnson City, and Lindsey Putman and her fiancé, Michael Shell, Elizabethton; Five Sons: Chuck Putman, of the home, Matney Putman, Wartburg, Reggie, Adam and Josh Putman, all of Roan Mountain; 9 Grandchildren; one niece; several nephews & cousins.
It was his wish to be cremated and no services are planned.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge.
