Jimmy Vance, Limestone

Jimmy D. Vance, 58, 490 Washington College Road, Limestone passed away at his residence Friday, March 30, 2012.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a son of the late Lorenza and Nancy Vance.
Mr. Vance was a farmer and brick mason and was a member of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Gourley.
Survivors include a son Jimmy Lee Vance of Johnson City; a daughter, Amy Piercy and her husband, Kevin, Telford; a step-son, Michael Surber, Johnson City; three sisters, Brenda Blevins and her husband, Danny, Erwin, Barbara Peters and her husband, Tim, Chuckey and Wanda Buchanan and her husband, Bud of Erwin; four brothers, Gaither Vance and his wife, Elsie, Chuckey, Roger Vance and his wife, Gracie, Telford, Webb Vance, Limestone and Homer Vance of Telford; a grandson, Cody Surber and wife, Savannah, Johnson City; a granddaughter, Cheyenne Piercy; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Surber; special friends, Jerry and Barbara Miller also several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service for Mr. Vance will be conducted at 2:30 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in the Cherokee Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Taylor officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM then proceed to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Grindstaff, James Miller, Jason Vance, Cody Surber, Jerry Miller, Jeff Grindstaff and Michael Surber.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
