Charles R. Ferguson, 71, Johnson City, entered into rest, Thursday, March 22, 2012, at the Christian Care Center of Johnson City.
A life long resident of Washington County, he was the son of the late Frank and Ruth Stover Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a Car Salesman for many years and an avid NASCAR fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean League Ferguson; one brother; and one sister.
He leaves behind a son, Jeff Ferguson, Jonesborough; a daughter, Khristy Ferguson, St. Petersburg, FL; a stepdaughter, Laura “Sissy” Kelly, a stepson, Tony Davenport, both of Gray; two sisters, Mary Kate Nelson and Lucille Fields, two brothers, Rev. Billy Ferguson, all of Jonesborough, and Roy Ferguson, Ludowici, GA; six grandchildren, April Payne, Amber Ferguson, Samantha Gillen, Bo Davenport, Megan Davenport and Courtney Davenport; and four great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life service for Charles R. Ferguson will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 24, 2012, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Chaplain Dwight MacPherson officiating.
A Committal and Entombment service will follow at the Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel of Memories. Active pallbearers will be Gary Edwards, Eddie Archer, Randy Archer, Steve Ferguson, Jimmy Ferguson, Bill Graham, Lynn Peters and Michael Moore. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Nave, David Black, Lynn Faller and Jackie Fleenor.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home chapel from 12:00 PM till the service hour.
