Bobby Greer, Jonesborough

Bobby William Greer, age 72, of Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Erwin Healthcare Center in Erwin, TN.
A native of Johnson City, he was a son of the late Herman and Helen Weaver Greer.
Mr. Greer was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church and was a 13 year veteran of the Johnson City Police Department, and worked for the Veterans Administration as a security officer. He also worked with the E.T.S.U Public Safety and for the Murray Guard Company.
Mr. Greer was a U.S Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Greer was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Dallas, and Edward Greer; two sisters, Bessie Greer and Helen Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Mackley Greer, two daughters, Teresa Fry and husband Brian, Gray, Tammy Patterson and husband Steve, Walkertown, NC; son, Robert Wayne Greer and wife Amy, Bluff City, TN; sister, Minnie Tucker, Piney Flats, three brothers, Herman Greer and wife Andrea, Elizabethton, Jack Greer and wife Brenda, Georgia, Donnie Greer, Johnson City; sister-in-law, Kathy Greer, Johnson City; Six Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Special nephew, Michael Oler.
The funeral service for Mr. Greer will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in the chapel of Woodall-Anderson & Dugger Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Davis officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. at Woodall-Anderson & Dugger Funeral Home.
The graveside service will follow the funeral at the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff of the Erwin Healthcare Center for the extraordinary care given to Mr. Greer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 207 Boone Street, Ste 1500, Johnson City, TN 37604.
