Jay Birmingham, JOHNSON CITY

Mr. Jay Julian Birmingham, 59, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at his home.
A native of Tulsa, OK, he was the son of the late Julian and Nannie Dee Lyon Birmingham. Jay will be remembered best for his love of history, his beautiful poetry of pen and spirit, his love and generosity towards his family and recent desire to know the Word of God.
He is survived by his two sisters, Beth Ann Yost and husband, Bob, of Knoxville, and Lynne Fortener and husband, Chris, of Watauga; brother, Matt Birmingham and wife, Jeanie, of Severn, Maryland; and nine nieces and nephews, Gabrielle, Rachel, Joshua, Laurel, Daniel, Ben, Jonathan, Jake and Will.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 12, 2012, from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at Morris-Baker Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Matthew N. Birmingham officiating.
