Alice Largent, Elizabethton

ELIZABETHTON — Alice Rasnick Herman Largent, age 97, born June 6, 1914, in Dickenson County, VA, but having lived all her life in Carter County, TN, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, in the Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, Elizabethton.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas Carroll and Viola O’Quinn Rasnick. Ms. Largent was retired from the assembly line at Texas Instruments. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Alice loved company and reading her Bible.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Tracy James Herman; a daughter, Bonnie Loueva Hardin Sipes; two sons, Jerry K. Herman and Thomas C. Herman; and thirteen brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Tracy Arnold Herman and wife, Margaret, Elizabethton, and Roy Lynn Herman and wife, Linda, Valdes, NC; two daughters-in-law, Nancy Herman and Kay Herman, both of Elizabethton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a special niece, Loretta Kyte; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Alice Rasnick Herman Largent will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 10, 2012, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Charles Biggs and Dr. William Duncan officiating.
Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Stephen May and Rev. Clate Briggs.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 2:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff and employees of Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care to Ms. Largent.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Activity Department, Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, 1200 Spruce Lane, Elizabethton, TN 37643 to be used for Christmas gifts for residents who do not have family.
