Patricia Hicks, Johnson City

Patricia Bond Lackey Hicks, 81, of Johnson City, Tennessee, formerly of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at her residence.
She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, September 16, 1930, to the late John Bond and Gladys Opal McDonald Lackey.
Mrs. Hicks was a retired educator having taught at Cynthiana High School, Harrison County Junior High and South Greene High School in Tennessee. Mrs. Hicks also worked with the Johnson City School System and for the Dawn of Hope. She was a member of the Cynthiana Christian Church, where she sang in the choir.
Her husband, Wallace Aaron Hicks, preceded her in death in 1982.
Survivors include one son, John A. Hicks and his wife, Tamera, of Cynthiana, Kentucky; One daughter, Margaret Hicks Conduff and her husband, Rodney, of Johnson City, Tennessee; Five grandchildren, Sonia Hicks Kirkman and husband, Robert, Aaron Hicks, Annastasia Hicks, Clayton W. Conduff and his wife, Melissa, and Corey Patrick Conduff. She had three great grandchildren, Nolan and Abbigail Kirkman and Clayton Alec Conduff. Her special cats, Sam, Bob, Buffy and Pilgram. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home in Cynthiana, Kentucky, by Dr. Larry W. Bishop with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Friday, March 9, 2012, at the funeral home.
