Charles Walker, Flag Pond

Charles William “Charley” Walker, age 78, 118 Stone Place Road, Flag Pond, Tennessee, passed away early Sunday morning, March 4, 2012, at his home.
He has been a resident of Unicoi County since 1995, moving here from Fletcher, North Carolina.
Mr. Walker proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was born in Delaware, Ohio, son of the late Pearl and Doris Mae Andrews Walker.
Mr. Walker was a retired Manufacturing Engineer for Crown Cork and Seal in Fletcher, North Carolina.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Phyllis Watts Walker; two sons, Charley Walker and wife Valerie, Atlanta, Georgia, and Brian Walker, Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Cheryl Anraku and husband Andy, Greenville, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Amanda Anraku, Jessica Anraku and Samantha Walker; two sisters, Helen Marie Myers and Ruth Long, both of Erwin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
There will be a private family memorial service held for Mr. Walker.
