Betty Black, Unicoi

UNICOI — Betty Louise Linville Black, age 80, 112 R. W. Drive, Unicoi, passed away Sunday morning, March 4, 2012, in Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care.
She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County. Mrs. Black was the second daughter born to Nathaniel David and Bessie Beatrice Tapp Linville on July 22, 1931.
She was a lifelong member of Unicoi United Methodist Church. Mrs. Black was very dedicated and loved her church family. She was a retired special education teacher’s assistant for the Unicoi County School System.
Mrs. Black was a loving and devoted wife, mama, nana, daughter and sister. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Black in 2004; three brothers, Marion Linville, H.C. Linville and Robert Linville; a sister, Lucille Piercy; brothers-in-law, Fred Tipton, Hollie Samples and Ray McInturff; sisters-in-law, Helen Linville and Rebecca Samples.
She is survived by four daughters, Pamela Black Bradshaw and husband, Lynn, of Erwin, Deborah Black Lonon and husband, Jim, Rebecca Black Langston, Buffy Black Greene and husband, Joe, all of Unicoi; five grandchildren, Bonnie Langston, Austin Huskins, Joseph Greene, Katelynn Greene and Abby Greene; one brother, James Linville and wife, Pauline, of Unicoi; four sisters, Marie Ramsey and husband, Jerry, of Unicoi, Eula Tipton, of Johnson City, Margaret Ann Yeager and husband, Don, of Knoxville, and Kay McInturff, of Unicoi; sisters-in-law, Daphne Linville, of Erwin, Ruth Linville, of Unicoi; many wonderful nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. Black will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 8, 2012, from the Unicoi United Methodist Church. Her body will be placed in the church for one hour prior to the service. Reverend Todd Kingrea, Reverend Patricia Linville Holbert and Reverend John Reightler will officiate. Music will be provided by Martha Pinner. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, sons-in-law and nephews.
Interment will follow in Jones Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel.
