Alice ‘Florence’ Ford, Gray

Alice “Florence” Ford, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 2, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Sullivan County and lived most of her life in Gray. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all who knew her.
She was an active member of Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She loved gardening, flowers and shopping.
Ms. Ford was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Edward Ford; her parents, James and Lula Milhorn; sisters, Marnie Milhorn and Edith Churchwell; brother, Elmer and infant sister, Bessie. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Ford Cloud.
A daughter, Linda Ford, of the home; grandchildren, Brandon Cloud and Tracy and Donald Bailey and great-granddaughter, Ava, all of Chattanooga, survive her.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday with services to be held at 4 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel. Karen Morris of Caris will be officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gray Cemetery.
In lieu of donations the family requests monetary donations be made to the family to help in other expenses that have been incurred during her illness.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
