NASHVILLE — Charles “Haniff” Jackson Jr., 47, passed away February 20, 2012, at Metro General Hospital, Nashville, TN.
He was born to Charles Jackson Sr. and the late Betty Jean Baker-Jackson in Johnson City, TN, on October 12, 1964. In 1973, the family moved from Johnson City to Nashville. He attended Stafford High School from 1979 to 1982. Born and raised a Baptist, Charles Jr. transitioned to the Muslim faith in 1995.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean; maternal grandparents, Martha Ethel Malone and Charles G. Malone; and paternal grandparents, Edward Jackson Sr. and Rosetta Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Charles Jackson Sr.; stepmother, Madelene Jackson; children, Tremaine, Charitra Jackson, Julius Ditto and Melissa Buford; sisters, Monique and Christa Jackson and Deadera Dunn, all of Nashville, Carol Stevens, Sarah Hill, of Johnson City; 3 loveable grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends; and the special love of his life, Johnnie Mae Swagerty.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 3 PM at the Greater Love Church of God in Christ, 130 Garden Drive, Johnson City, pastor Michael Cummings.
