Oma ‘Toots’ Yelton, Johnson City

Oma “Toots” McCracken Yelton, 91, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012, at NHC Health Care.
A native of Jonesborough, TN, she was the daughter of the late Walter F. and Sallie E. Milhorn McCracken. She was a member of Keystone Presbyterian Church, Johnson City. Toots enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She loved life and was a caregiver to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Thomas Ford Yelton; and eight brothers and sisters.
She leaves behind a daughter, Lisa Yelton Jackson; and a grandson, Brice Thomas Jackson, both of Raleigh, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life Service for Oma “Toots” McCracken Yelton will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2012, in the Sunrise Chapel at Tetrick Funeral Services with Reverend Harold McNabb officiating. Music will be under the direction of Donna McCracken Davis and Harold McNabb.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time of service.
Graveside and Committal service will be held in Highland Cemetery, Gray, TN, following the Celebration of Life.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses and staff at NHC Health Care and CARIS Hospice for the love and care given to Mrs. Yelton and her family.
