Ruby McCracken, Johnson City

Ruby Little McCracken, age 99, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Lakebridge Healthcare, Johnson City.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, TN, and a member of Harrison Christian Church since 1965. She taught the Mary, Martha Bible Class for more than 20 years.
Mrs. McCracken is a graduate of Boones Creek High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Milligan College. She was a teacher with the Washington County School System for 20 years, teaching Business at Boones Creek High School and at Daniel Boone High School before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Joshua and Nellie Simmons Little; her husband, Ray Dean McCracken; infant daughter Nelta Joann; sisters, Louise Gresham and Jessie Saylor; a brother, James Estelle Little.
Mrs. McCracken is survived by her sister, Bonnie Little Byerly and her husband, Steele; four nieces; and five nephews.
The graveside service for Mrs. McCracken will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 P.M. Sunday.
Friends may visit the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 until 5:00 P.M. and Sunday from 9:00 until 12:00 to register their presence.
In addition to her private in home caregivers, the family would like to thank Lakebridge Healthcare and Broadmore Assisted Living for providing excellent care in her last years.
