Stanley Donnelly, Elk Point, S.D.

ELK POINT, S.D. — Stanley Norman Donnelly, age 78, Elk Point, South Dakota, passed away early Thursday morning, February 23, 2012, in Erwin, Tennessee.
He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of the late Ralph Henry and Ione (Fowler) Donnelly.
Mr. Donnelly graduated in 1952 from Elk Point High School. After high school graduation, he attended South Dakota State University at Brookings, South Dakota. Mr. Donnelly later enlisted the United States Army and served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict.
He married Delores (Budde) at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Jefferson, South Dakota, on April 4, 1964. He has remained a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church since his marriage. Mr. Donnelly has been a lifelong farmer in Elk Point.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Delores (Budde) Donnelly; two daughters, Teresa (Traci) Donnelly-Jarvis and husband, Randy, of Jefferson, South Dakota, Stana M. Donnelly and husband, Mitchell Manuel, Erwin, Tennessee; close friends, Don and Kate Frankl, Jefferson, South Dakota, Kirk and Carol Laferriere, Sioux City, Iowa, Frank and Wanda Minor, Elk Point, South Dakota.
Mass will be offered at 6:00 P.M. Monday, February 27, 2012, in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel, in Erwin, Tennessee. Father Thomas Charter will officiate.
Mass will be offered at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Jefferson, South Dakota. Father David Roehrich will officiate.
Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
