Kathleen ‘Kathy’ King, Johnson City

Mrs. Kathleen “Kathy” Heaton King, 63, of Johnson City, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012, following an extended illness at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late John Joseph and Anne Sasan Bomba and was born in Cleveland, OH.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Heaton; and a brother, Ronald Bomba.
She was a 1966 graduate of Parma Senior High School and graduated from the Parma School of Nursing in Ohio. She was a retired nurse from St. John’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH. Mrs. King was a member of Cherokee Church of Christ, in Johnson City.
She was an active volunteer, having worked with Meals on Wheels and at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Stuart King, of the home; a daughter, Laura M. Krug, Banner Elk, NC; two sons, Daniel J. Heaton, Piney Flats; and Scott A. Heaton, Hampton; seven grandchildren; and a brother, John S. Bomba, Parma, OH. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service for Mrs. King will be conducted on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. David Irick, minister, officiating.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
Inurnment will follow the memorial service in Walnut Mountain Cemetery.
