Francis Winters, Johnson City

Francis May Winters, 91, Johnson City, formerly of 2209 North Greenwood Drive, entered into rest, Saturday, February, 11, 2012 surrounded by her family in Elizabethton.
Mrs. Winters was a native of Ranger, TX, a former resident of Anchorage, Alaska, and had lived in Johnson City since 1964.
She was a daughter of the late Francis and Mae Skinner Ray and was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Ambrose Winters, one son, Clyde Arnold Winters, one daughter, Elma Joyce Bailey, one grandson, David Winters and brothers, Pete, Jasper and Bill Ray.
Mrs. Winters was a retired LPN and a former employee of the Johnson City Medical Center for 26 years.
She was an avid gardener and loved crafts, particularly painting and quilting.
Mrs. Winters was a member of C Street Church of Christ, Elizabethton, TN.
She leaves four daughters, Diana Shepard and husband, Kenneth, Johnson City, TN, Debra ‘Judy” McKinney, Gray, TN, Janet Smith, Marion, VA and “Jinny” Virginia Rhyne and husband Chris, Boones Creek, TN; eleven grandchildren, Wendy Cantrell and husband, Doug, Knoxville, Derek Winters and wife, Michelle, Clarksville,TN, Dwayne Bailey and wife, Karen, Pensacola, FL, Scott Bailey and wife, Brooke, Johnson City, TN, Warren Bailey, Foley, AL, Spenser Shepard, Jacksonville, FL, Nathan Shepard, Birmingham, AL, Benjamin Smith, Townsend, TN, Hannah Smith, Washington, DC, Kristen Bunger and husband, Alan, Nashville, TN, Haylee Rhyne, Johnson City, TN; six great grandchildren, Noah, Katie, Bethany and Ethan Cantrell and Urijah Bailey and Finley Bunger.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2012 until a Celebration of Life Service at 8:00 PM at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City. Mr. Roby Ellis, minister, will officiate.
Committal services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 am. Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law.
The family expresses a special thanks to the staff of Hermitage Healthcare, Elizabethton for their loving, and compassionate care of Mrs. Winters.
