Mike Shipley, Johnson City

Mike Shipley, age 55, 9 Tara Court, Johnson City, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 11, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Shipley was a self employed auto mechanic and a member of Boones Creek Christian Church.
Survivors include his parents: James C. and Shirley Nolen Shipley, Johnson City; maternal grandfather, James R. Nolen, Bybee, TN; one brother, Jeffrey C. Shipley and wife Linda, Johnson City; one sister, Kelly Shipley Cook and husband Jeter Cook Jr., Johnson City; three nieces: Madison, Spencer and Conner Cook all of Johnson City; “heart” daughter, Sarah Truitt, Milligan, one step niece, Jeanna Lee Mathes and great nephew, infant, Lane Mathes, Johnson City.
Funeral services for Mike Shipley will be held Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel, Unicoi. Reverend Clint Andrews will officiate. Special music will be provided by pianist, Inez Chandler. Pallbearers will be Mike Davis, Mark Little, Robbie Boy, Chris Carter, Jeff Larimer, Steve Legg, Shane Tolley and Joel Nadeau.
The family will receive friends from 5:00- 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of his parents,1884 Carroll Creek Rd. Johnson City, TN.
The committal service for Mr. Shipley will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Boones Creek Christian Church Cemetery. Minister, pallbearers, family and those attending the committal are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM Friday.
