Michael Johnson, Kingsport

Michael Wayne Johnson, 49, Hampton passed away at Holston Valley Hospital, Kingsport Thursday February 9, 2012 as the results of an accident while on the job.
He was born in Avery County, North Carolina but had lived his life in Carter County. He was a son of the late Jacob Eugene and Mary Mildred Ramsey Johnson. He had been an employee of Summers-Taylor for the past 15 years. He was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters: Teresa Carnes, Stephanie Johnson and Anna Johnson and three infant brothers.
Survivors include his wife: June Pierce Johnson. His Children: Joshua, Christopher, Marcus and Courtney. Three Brothers: Leonard Johnson, Roan Mountain, Danny Johnson, of North Carolina and Mark Johnson, Banner Elk. Two Sisters: Emma Johnson, Roan Mountain. And Wanda Whitener, Butler. Several Nieces & Great Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Charles Pearce officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Johnson Cemetery (Crabtree). Music will be provided by Joel Crisp. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday will be: Barney Brown, Aaron Whitener, Jimmy Dyson, Roy Lee Johnson, Eugene Johnson, Melvin Johnson, Mark Johnson, Barney Johnson and Jacob Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of Summers-Taylor. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at his residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
