Evelyn Poore Fillers, Johnson City

Evelyn Poore Fillers, age 82, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Lakebridge Healthcare Center.
She was born in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Sam Poore and Rose Gobble, and the step daughter of the late George Gobble. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Manning Fillers. She was a member of the East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women’s Group. She was retired from working more than thirty years at Empire Furniture Company.
She is survived by one son, Jim Fillers and wife, Jane of Johnson City; one granddaughter, Marie Fillers Johnson and husband Earl of Johnson City; one sister, Sue Calvert of Hampton, one brother, Smokey Gobble of Kingsport, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Services, 3001 Peoples St., Johnson City, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, with Funeral Services conducted at 7:00 pm. Services will be officiated by Pastor Lon Tobin, Pastor Jeremy Dykes, and Minister Tim Hall.
Interment will be Wednesday, February 15, at 11:00 am in Monte Vista Memorial Gardens. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am to go in procession. Pallbearers will be Bobby Fillers, Roger Fillers, Brian Fillers, Jerome Palmer, Jim Parris, and Earl Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1992, Johnson City, TN 37605.
