ORANGE CITY, Fla. — Martha Ellen Feathers-Alvarez of Orange City, Florida went home to the arms of Jesus on February 10, 2012 after a courageous battle with a long term illness.
She passed peacefully while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 28, 1932 in Jonesboro TN, and was raised in Gray, TN. She resided in East Brunswick, NJ., for the greatest part of her life, and was most recently residing in Orange City, FL.
She as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Sister. She retired form Kimberly Clark after 21 years of service, but her primary profession and passion was being a loving homemaker. Martha was a member of Our Lady of Lakes Catholic Church in Orange City, Florida.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Ada Feathers; brothers, Robert, Howard, Floyd, Eugene and Charles Feathers; Son-in-law Bobby Dove; a grandson Corey Dove, and great-grandson Daxton Dove.
Martha is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Francisco Alvarez; siblings, Lela Mae Conner of Gray, TN; Lorena Hagy and husband Jim of Gray; Norman feathers of Cerritos, California and Fred Feathers and wife Lee of Kingsport, TN; 8 children, Susan Alvarez-Dove of Orange City, FL.; Ada Alvarez McConnell and Husband Walton of Blountville, TN; Eva Alvarez-Zinis of Easton, PA; Francisco Alvarez ad wife Robin of Glendale, AZ; Robert Alvarez and wife Maria of Barnegat, NJ; Michael Alvarez and wife Angela of Silverstreet, SC; Dennis Alvarez and wife Barbara of Jackson, NJ, and Christopher Alvarez of East Brunswick, NJ; 16 grand children; Tammy Davis; Jessica Koberlein, Gabrielle Smith, Paige Zinis, Jacqueline Miller, Sean Phillippe, Lucas, Spencer, Kyle Francisco (Frankie), Chelsea, Jordan, Dale, Hunter and Virginia Alvarez; 8 Great-grandchildren: Trent West, Brynn and Ariana Koberlein, Reid, Milla, Laura and Charlotte Smith and Dominic Miller.
Martha is also survived by many extended children. She love and cared for all she knew.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday AM at the Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Rd, East Brunswick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew RC Church, East Brunswick. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
