Madge Duncan, Elizabethton

Madge Duncan, 68, Courtyard Apts., Elizabethton passed away Sunday February 12, 2012 at her residence.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Edwards & Anonna Augusta Lyons Knaack. She was a former employee of the Elizabethton Star in the Circulation Department. She was a member of the Buck Mountain Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son: Billy Whitehead.
Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: Wayne & Judy Whitehead, Elizabethton. Two Grandchildren: Mitchell & Andy Whitehead. Two Great Granddaughters: Gracie & Chloe Whitehead. Seven Step-Children; Bobby Duncan and wife Debbie, Bluff City, Johnny Duncan, Johnson City, Kathy Duncan, Nashville, Jimmy Duncan and wife Cathy, South Carolina, Mickey Rosenbaum and husband Larry, Nashville, Selena Fugate and husband Sammy, Gray and Wendy Phelan, Illinois. 13 Step-Grandchildren, 3 Great Step-Grandchildren. Her Father: Charles Knaack, Roan Mountain. Five Brothers; Jay Knaack, North Carolina, Charles Knaack, Mexico, Sam Edwards and wife Ruth, Mountain City, Sherman Knaack and wife Lisa and Barry Knaack all of Roan Mountain. Several Nieces & Nephews. Her Special Friend: Lee Wilkerson.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Perkins officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Lacy Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Thursday will be: Andy Whitehead, Shawn Whitehead, Lee Wilkerson, Sammy Fugate, Samuel Fugate and Jimmy Duncan. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers, Friends at the Elizabethton Star and Friends at Courtyard Apartments. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her son & daughter-in-law: Wayne & Judy Whitehead, 109 Yard Hill Road, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
