R.C. Williams, Johnson City

Mr. R.C. Williams, age 77, Johnson City, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Williams was a native of Burnsville, North Carolina, and long time resident of Johnson City. He was the son of the late David and Rosetta Edwards Williams.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandson, Garrett Williams.
Mr. Williams was retired from the Budd Company and Bosch Braking Systems. Mr. Williams was a talented singer and shared his love of music and of God with his church families at Pentecostal Holiness Church in Erwin and at Grace Free Will Baptist Church in Johnson City, where he was a member.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Williams; two sons, Michael Williams and wife, Pamela, of Nashville, and Stephen and wife, Sandra, of Erwin; grandchildren, Delaney Williams, of Nashville, and Kendrick Williams, of Erwin; brother, Dr. Troy Williams and wife, Jean, of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Chloe Whitson and husband, Lee, of Green Mountain, N.C.; sisters- in-law, Dorothy Pierce and Gail Tapp, of Erwin; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 12, 2012, from 3:30 p.m. until a Celebration of Life Service at 5:30 p.m. at Grace Free Will Baptist Church, Johnson City, with Rev. Curtis Hurt and Rev. Jackie Cole.
Interment will take place on Monday, February 13, 2012, at Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel at 11:00 am. Active pallbearers will be Peter Burton, Dan Phillips, Scott Elrod, Geff Moore, David Johnson, David Lyle, Troy Garland and Chris Darnell. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Ford, Roy Francis, Bryan Burton and Garland Hood. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grace Free Will Baptist Church Ladies Auxiliary, 2110-A Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37604.
