Mary K. Byrd, 82, Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
A native of Johnson City she was the daughter of the late William & Sarah Head Jackson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: William (W.L.), Robert (Bob), James, Dave Jackson; and nephew: Willie.
Mary was a very kind, very caring person. She showed her love for her family in so many ways. Growing up, all of our friends called her mamma bird, because she was there for anyone that needed her, day or night. She was a faithful wife, a very loving mother and grandmother, and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She loved to play bingo, watch old westerns, and listen to George Strait and gospel music. Heaven is a better place now that she is there.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Byrd; Daughters: Brenda Bare, Patricia Moore and husband, Tim; Sons: Richard Byrd and wife, Julie, David Byrd and wife, Tracy; Six Grandchildren: Jason Byrd and fiancée, Jennifer Reed, Taylor Byrd, Lauren Byrd, Sarah Byrd McNabb, Jacob Byrd, Katie Byrd, Daylann Blevins; Brothers: E.J. Jackson, Don Jackson, Jack Jackson, Kyle Jackson; several nieces and nephews, all her caregivers at Appalachian Christian Village.
