Floyd Tapp, Erwin

ERWIN — Floyd Tapp, age 84, of Erwin, TN, passed into the arms of our Lord on January 17, 2012, at the V.A. Medical Center Nursing Home.
Mr. Tapp was a native of Unicoi County and the son of the late Frank and Rachel Tapp, of Erwin. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Floyd retired as a security officer with the United States Forestry Service.
Other than his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Tapp; brother, Lloyd Tapp, of Erwin; sisters, Anna June Tapp, of Erwin, Pansy Lewis, of Erwin, and Lora Mae Manouelien.
Mr. Tapp is survived by: Brother: Patrick H. Tapp and wife, Ruby, of Johnson City, TN; Sisters: Hazel Murray, of Erwin, Nell Lewis, of Erwin; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Tapp will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, January, 20, 2012, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Pastor Herman Clark will officiate.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM until service time at Valley Funeral Home.
The graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 10:00 AM at Fishery Community Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard. Those who will be attending will meet at Valley Funeral Home on Saturday by 9:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Larry Tilson, Burl Tilson, Don Lewis, Richard Lewis, Doug Allen and Beryl Tapp. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charles Lewis, Wayne Lewis, Elwood Lyle and Butch Allen.
