Linda Wise, JOHNSON CITY

Linda M. Wise, 55, of 1308 E. Myrtle Avenue, Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2012, after a long battle with cancer.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ella Mae Arnold Cole. Mrs. Wise was the co-founder and a member of the Decision Time Church in Johnson City.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wise.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Richard C. Wise, of the home; three daughters, Christina Davis, of Greeneville, Tracy Paredes, of Orlando, FL, and Leslie Davis, of Johnson City; a brother, Rev. Jackie Cole and his wife, Peggy, of Gray; two nephews, Charlie Cole and his wife, Sarah, and Jeremiah Cole and his wife, Joann, all of Johnson City. Linda also had seven grandchildren and a great-grandson along with several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wise will be conducted at 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2012, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, with the Rev. David Dugger and Rev. Eddie Childress officiating. Music will be provided by Wayne Lyons and Emily Lyons and Tina Crawford.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 PM until the service time. Also other times at the residence.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 18, 2012, in the Sheets Family Cemetery in Carter County. Pallbearers will be selected from the family, friends and members of the Decision Time Church. For those that wish to go in procession to the cemetery please meet at the funeral home by 10:20 AM on Wednesday.
The family would like to extend their warmest gratitude to Amedisys Hospice Care of Elizabethton, Cole’s Medical Supply, Doctors and staff at the E.T.S.U. Physicians Group, Dr. Allison Prinz and staff at McCloud Cancer and Blood Center in Johnson City and the members of Decision Time Church for all of their assistance through this trying time.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Johnson City Animal Shelter, 525 Sells Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37604.
