Willia McInturff, Unicoi

UNICOI — Willia Mae McInturff, age 94, 119 Gilmon McInturff Rd., Unicoi, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at her residence.
Mrs. McInturff, known by her family as momo, was born on August 10, 1917, to the late Ben and Sally Putnam Tipton, and had resided in Unicoi County all of her life.
Mrs. McInturff was a homemaker, whose Christian lifestyle, values and beliefs were witnessed by all who encountered her, her strong religious beliefs helped to inspire many people throughout her lifetime. Mrs. McInturff was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church, and enjoyed doing volunteer work for local nursing homes, making apple butter and biscuits with the residents.
She also enjoyed making apple butter for the last seventeen Apple Festivals, along with five generations of her family, who will always have fond memories of her old fashioned farm living lifestyle.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McInturff is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Gilmon McInturff; one son, Gene McInturff; one son-in-law, Junior Williams; three sisters, Mildred Tipton, Hassie Hensley, Charlotte Tipton; and one brother, Fred Tipton.
She is survived by: Sons: Troy and Betty McInturff, of Watauga, Wayne and Gail McInturff, of Unicoi; Daughter: Bernice Williams, of Unicoi; Daughter-in-law: Jeanie McInturff, of Unicoi; Sisters: Tempie McInturff, Pansy and William McNabb, Beulah Bryant, Hazel and Douglas Carver, Beatrice and Harvey Bryant; Brother: Richard Tipton; Sister-in-law: Eula Tipton; Grandchildren: Linda and Jim Jones, Gail and Bud Honeycutt, Treva and Donnie Basinger, Cindy and Allen Mango, Shelia and Nick Delany, Tammy and Andrew Appel, April and Tilo Kushman, Nathan and Laura McInturff, Harold and Henrietta McInturff and Sam and Jackie Williams; twenty-four Great grandchildren; and thirteen great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service for Willia Mae McInturff will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2012, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Reverend Norman Loveless, Reverend Stephen Miller and Reverend Scotty Jenkins officiating. Vocal selections will be provided by Harold McNabb.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until service time on Sunday.
A graveside committal service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 16, 2012, in the McInturff/Barnett Cemetery in the Marbleton Community of Unicoi. Pallbearers will be Harold McInturff, Nick Delaney, Nathan McInturff, Daniel Honeycutt, Andy Paul, Nicholas Jones, Aaron Fowler and Brian Paul. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Paul, Joseph Honeycutt, Andrew Appel, Corey Seth Mcinturff, Bradley Ellison, Sam Williams, Chris Williams, Zachery Hale, Tilo Kuschmann and Jeff Spears.
Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at Valley Funeral Home on Monday by 10:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
