Carl Potter, Elizabethton

ELIZABETHTON — Carl D. “Todd” Potter, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012, in the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Liberty, Ohio, He was a son of the late Dan William and Julie Stout Potter. He had lived most of his life in Carter County. He was a retired Carpenter and Electrician. Mr. Potter served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Hampton Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Lynn & Danny Potter; four sisters: Edith Taylor, Clara Potter, Mary Nave and Ruby Potter; and two brothers: Stanley & Manley Potter.
He loved to fish.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Dorothy Reed Potter; Three Grandsons: Lance Fouraker, Chattanooga, Uli Potter and Lars Potter, both of Hammond, Wisconsin; A Granddaughter: Courtney Rider, of the home; Four Great Grandchildren: Cheyenne Nicole, Lance Lanier Jr., David Robert & Leah Fouraker; A Sister: Helen Cates, Hampton; Several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012, in the Hampton Christian Church with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, Minister, officiating.
Interment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tn. Active Pallbearers will be: Barry Lovelace, Jamie Lovelace, Lars Potter, Uli Potter, James Loveland and Jessie Hardin.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at the church. Friends may also call at the residence. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.
