Lois Paul, Johnson City

“Beloved wife, Mother and Grandmother who lived her faith and will always be an inspiration to her family and friends. Her courage was amazing how blessed and honored we were to have had her in our lives. We will always love you.”
Mrs. Lois Mae Paul, 84, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at her residence.
A lifelong native and resident of Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Bascomb Jacob and Verta Moody Woodby. Lois was of the Baptist faith; she attended Keystone Freewill Baptist and was a member of Community Baptist, Jonesborough. She worked as a telephone operator and a 911 Dispatcher for the town of Jonesborough.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cloyd Paul; and daughter, Linda Paul Morrell.
She leaves behind one son, Wayne Paul and wife, Marjorie Paul, Rogersville; three daughters, Wilma Oxendine, Wanda Judy and husband, Keith Judy, all of Johnson City, and Susan France and husband, Col. M. Dennis France, Murfreesboro; five grandchildren, Michael R. Morrell and wife, Jennifer, Gray, Dr. Kevin Oxendine, Elizabethton, Melissa Morrell Broyles, Billy Oxendine, both of Johnson City, and Annie Oxendine, Jonesborough; five great grandchildren; and many special friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Lois Mae Paul will be conducted at 8:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2012, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Reverend Bill Greer officiating.
The family will greet friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday from 6:00 PM till the service hour.
A Committal and Interment service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2012, in the McNabb Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet the family at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:15 PM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Col. Michael D. France, Dr. Kevin Oxendine, Billy Oxendine, Keith Judy, Mike Murray and Mark Paul. Honorary pallbearers are Wendell Cheek, Robert Garland, Joey Gibson, Gene Odom, Joe Tweed and William King.
