Edwin Thompson, Jonesborough

Mr. Edwin Earl Thompson, age 86, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Washington County and son of the late Alexander & Roxie Henley Thompson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was also preceded in death by his wife, Etta Mae Thompson and a brother-in-law, Arvel Hughes.
He was a member of Seviers United Methodist Church.
Mr. Thompson was a Farmer.
He was a United States Navy Veteran.
Survivors include two brothers, David Kenneth Thompson, Johnson City and Teddy Louis Thompson and wife, Barbara, Jonesborough; sister, Jessie Mae Hughes, Johnson City; special friend, Gladys Wilson, Jonesborough; several nieces, nephews and his breakfast friends at Hardeeā€™s.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Claude Hensley, Jovi Rose, David Shell, David Keplinger, Jeff Coggins, Greg Thompson and Keith Malone.
