After a three month battle with cancer, a valiant warrior has been welcomed into his Saviors arms. Milan Ralph Tucker, age 92, died at his home surrounded by his family on December 26, 2011.
Mr. Tucker was the son of the late Ralph & Florence Tucker. He was an Auburn, New York native where he was a building contractor for a number of years.
After moving to Johnson City, Mr. Tucker was employed in the Contract Sales department at Sears before working as a Sales Representative for Advanced Heat Pump Systems.
Mr. Tucker was an active member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church where he served on various committees of the Administrative Board. In addition, he belonged to the Prospect New Member Visitation Committee since its inception in the 80’s. He also served as an usher for a number of years.
Mr. Tucker was a member of the Solon Gentry Sunday School Class & was an active participant in the Feeding-of-the-Homeless program.
During his illness, Mr. Tucker took his greatest solace & comfort in His Lord Jesus Christ. Second only to the Lord was his great love for his family.
Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Dundas Tucker, and his one brother, Hollis W. Tucker.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sarah Dean Banks Tucker, daughter and son-in-law Tim and Denise (Harter) Bridges of Johnson City; daughter and son-in-law Dennis and Diane (Harter) Strege of Maryville.; daughter Diane Dundas Klingelhoffer of Maryland; daughter Paula Dundas Crane of New Mexico; son, the Late Thomas Dundas; seven grandchildren- Angelica, Austin and Gloria Bridges and Emily, Aaron, Amanda & Alex Strege.
Honorary pallbearers are the Solon Gentry Sunday School Class.
We would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the following three people:
To his son-in-law, Tim Bridges, who tirelessly poured his life to the care of the one he so affectionately described as his “best buddy.”
To his granddaughter Emily Elizabeth who gave her Grampy the last three months of her life by moving in with her grandparents & selflessly carried out all that was needed.
Because of these two loved ones, as well as his wife Dean; daughter Denise, our loved one was able to remain in his home where he belonged.
And to Bill Clever who loved Mr. Tucker like a grandfather and committed to give without measure to see that his final days were lived out in dignity and peace.
Our hearts will always be indebted to these three who loved our husband/dad/grandfather so very well.
To God be the glory for the gift of this life.
